Another Getaway - Bheemeshwari

So the last weekend I had an opportunity to make way for a getaway, again with my photography enthusiast friend Binay :). Much awaited as the last time I went out was on 29the April. We had thought of planning lots of things but one day got wasted because of bad health on Saturday.

We headed for Bheemeshwari Nature and Fishing camp on Sunday at around midday. The only mistake we did was the time we started off from home. Really can't help it, we are bunch of lazy geese :).

Midway we found some beautiful places with curvy roads in the green backdrop.
We got out of the car and soon there were people gazing at us. Surprisingly, bunch of not so shy kids approached and asked - "So what's the purpose of your shoot??" :) . I just said, we are killing time.
Anyway, they asked me if I can shoot their pic. I gladly obliged. The kid didn't have any email so he took my number. No calls as of now :).

Here's one of the pictures:

I grabbed the opportunity and got a picture with me in the frame( thanks to Binay ):

Followed by few trite road/landscape pictures :)

We went ahead and finally reached the place. Not surprisingly, the place wasn't much of a fuss, no great landscapes, just a river and few mountains/trees nearby. We also got to know that there was a famous temple, so we went ahead and took god's blessings :). The temple name's Muthathi temple devoted to God Hanuman. Below is the picture of another temple just before the main temple( Sri Rama and Hanuman hugging ).
Again, there wasn't really much around, so more trite pictures below:

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE .. new photo added:

It was really tough to get the composition right with so little beauty/shapes around. So I decided to get into water and try something different. This is what I ended up with ( I know there are no leading lines, no attention drawing elements but had to post :D )

In the pic below, I asked my friend to sit still for 30 seconds ( the duration of the exposure ), but it was practically impossible. Nevertheless, there is a blurry portrait :)

I wasn't really getting any interesting patterns. So we moved along the river shore and reached a place where I had a clear view of the mountain. I kinda settled there as there wasn't anywhere else to go and we were just 30 minutes from sunset. Below is the picture of my tripod setup to get a ground level view.

The effort paid off and I finally got this picture after sunset colors kicked in:

After multiple hits and trials I was done with landscapes.
We had a slight golden hue in the backdrop, so I asked my friend to pose.
The idea of this pose had been there in my head for a long time. It is inspired from this song: I will wait - Mumford and Sons
And the part of the lyrics:
Raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow

'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you.

The photo is not as mystical as the song goes, but what's the harm in trying :))))

Soon it went dark and we were on our way back.
Really, I will soon run out of places to go, i.e. around Bangalore. Not sure what I will do next, but I will keep you posted. Thanks for visiting!!

    1. Thanks Kanika. I know what you mean. May be I was just distracted with my own thoughts that I didn't see it. :)

  3. Krish, once again your photos just fill me with a sense of wonder about humanity and the enormous playground we live on.

Like your friend Kanika, I too found the black and white picture to be the most beautiful. It is a place that could be anywhere, nothing that blows us away like "Wow, I've never seen a mountain like that before!" or "Wow, look at that insane sunset!"

However, it is precisely that quality which makes it so special. The clouds overhead, rolling by like there's nothing to see under them. The cattle seeking shade and water, just another day for them. The trees on the end of the beach there, growing all together in a big tangle of roots and trunk. It is all stunning because you seem to have just frozen simplicity in time, like a single memory from anyone's childhood that comes back at a strange moment and you only realize years later how good those days were. Hopefully, with wisdom, that memory brings the realization that these days are good too.

Anyways, my second favorite isn't the awesome sunset pic you managed to get at the end, but the picture of the guys on motorcycle riding that road. I always love your photography of people in motion. That pic you had of the kid jumping into the water in another blog was just awesome, but you seem to always take great photos of people riding bikes, crowded markets, riding taxis, whatever it may be. Something about people moving just stirs me and I'm sure stirs you as well, because we enjoy movement and travel and people and seeing new things.

Take care sir, can't wait to see your next one! No matter what you say, I think you should find a way to get paid to go cool places and take photos of how life really is, not like a tourist wants to see it. The world could benefit from a perspective like yours. I certainly have. Keep up the good work!!

    1. Johnyboy!
Much thanks for your detailed comments! I know what you are trying to tell me. Yes, there was beauty there. But not the kind I was looking for. As I told to Kanika, I was completely obsessed by what I wanted to see and had ignored anything else. You're right. I should not shoot touristee pics, rather focus on capturing the real beauty. :)
Thanks again for inspiring me. But really, the thought of going professional scares me a lot. I am just another fish in the sea. Trust me, there are lots of fishes out there, with much more talent and creativity. Going professional will also take away the joy of clicking pictures for myself. In that case, I would be doing it for a client. Plus, the market in India is more for wedding and event photography which really doesn't interest me yet. I would try to keep up with your expectations in my next blog :D
