Ye Dilli Hai Mere Yaar
Well Delhi has always fascinated me. As always it bustles with life, a fast life, very fast indeed. It is just like any other city, busy roads, crowded streets, people hurrying, long queues perfect chaos but you still will find it fascinating ( until you get bullied by someone :P )! And there's order in the disorder :P . People waiting in long queues don't really mind if someone else breaks the rules, budges in and gets into metro :D. I guess they understand that there's no point in protesting! Well, before I get into the whine mode, I will share some of my photography related experiences.
I wanted to shoot some long exposures of landscapes mainly of monuments. But really didn't find the energy/company/time to carry the tripod and other camera gear all alone. And it got decently cold in the evening/night, so getting up early was also a difficult task. I also wanted to do some street photography, to catch the spirit of Old Delhi, the old gullies, narrow paths, crowded street, the chat corners and it turned out it was much harder than it seemed :-/. Overall, the luck wasn't favoring much as well.
I went to Jama Masjid --> it was closed for Namaz, so I moved on
I went to Lal Qilla ( The Red Fort ) --> closed on Monday
I went to Qutab Minar at sunset --> they close at 6 and open for night tour later
Call it bad planning/timing but the end result's that I couldn't do much and time just flied!
And my photo-blog series of unsuccessful attempts continues ...
My unplanned pictures came better than the planned ones, not sure what it implies ;D
Caught this sparrow unaware of my presence and had the full time to focus:
Shot with 300mm lens, really helped me capture the children play as it is:
Random shot of Jama Masjid entry gate, the cut off pillar does distract, please don't mind :)
Another Jama Masjid shot:
A painterly view of Jama Masjid's entrance:
Old Delhi's old street at evening:
The crowded jalebi corner:
Shot at Chandni Chowk:
The auto wallah at night:
The next morning
An old guy doing surya namaskar:
Couldn't get anything much interesting at lotus temple ( again bad timing ):
And lastly the ladies guy at Qutab Minar :)
Hope you liked some of the pics, thanks for visiting! :)
